1. Terms of Service

1.1 These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Ads2Door website and your booking of advertising space in any publication we produce. By creating an account, making a booking or uploading artwork you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy and the Refund Policy.

If you do not agree, do not make a booking.

1.2 Definitions

1.3 Our role: we are the publisher

We are the publisher of each Publication. We decide its format and layout, we approve or refuse the adverts that appear in it, we commission the printing, and we arrange distribution through our delivery partner.

We are not your agent, and we do not act as a neutral intermediary or mere conduit for your Artwork. We do not sell your products or services, we do not enter into any contract with your customers, and we make no representation about your business.

Because we are the publisher, we take our own obligations for the content of each Publication seriously. Sections 1.11 to 1.13 (your warranties and indemnity) and section 1.10 (our right to refuse) exist so that we can meet those obligations, and they are a condition of your Booking.

1.4 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old. If you are booking on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business to these Terms, and that business is the Advertiser.

We may require you to confirm whether you are acting as a business or as a consumer. Different statutory rights apply to each, as explained in section 1.14.

1.5 How the contract is formed

  1. You create an account and select a Publication and a Card.
  2. You upload Artwork and complete checkout, paying the price shown.
  3. We review the Booking and the Artwork. Your Booking is not accepted until we confirm it in writing (by email or in your account dashboard).
  4. If we refuse the Booking or the Artwork, we will tell you why and refund you in full.

Taking payment does not by itself mean your Booking is accepted.

1.6 The Minimum Edition โ€” what happens if the Publication does not fill

This section is important and applies to every Booking.

  1. A Publication only proceeds if the Minimum Edition is reached by the Closing Date. The Minimum Edition is 60% of the advertising cards in that Publication, rounded up to the nearest whole card. This is how we keep the cost of each Card affordable.
  2. If the Minimum Edition is reached, the Publication proceeds on the Publication Date and your Booking is confirmed.
  3. If the Minimum Edition is not reached by the Closing Date, the Publication will not proceed as booked. We will notify you in writing within 5 working days of the Closing Date.
  4. You then choose, within 10 working days of our notice, either:
    1. a full refund of everything you paid for that Booking, paid within 14 days of your election; or
    2. a rollover of your Booking to the next available Publication of equivalent Card size and location, at no additional cost and with your Artwork carried over.
  5. If you do not tell us which you want within that period, we will refund you in full automatically within 14 days. We will not keep your money for a Publication that did not run.
  6. We may extend a Closing Date once by up to 7 days to try to reach the Minimum Edition. If we do, we will tell you, and your rights under this section are unaffected.

Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights.

1.7 Prices, payment and VAT

  1. Prices are shown on the Publication page and are in pounds sterling. We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged. If we become VAT registered, prices will be shown inclusive of VAT and we will issue a VAT invoice on request.
  2. Payment is taken at checkout through our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  3. We may change our prices at any time, but a change will not affect a Booking you have already paid for.
  4. If a price was displayed incorrectly and the error is obvious and could reasonably have been recognised as a mistake, we may cancel the Booking and refund you in full.

1.8 Artwork: specification, deadlines and what we do with it

1.8.1 Specification

Artwork must meet the specification for the Card you have booked, which is set out on the Publication page and includes, unless stated otherwise:

We may refuse Artwork that does not meet the specification.

1.8.2 Deadlines

Artwork must be uploaded by the Closing Date. If Artwork is not received by then, we may cancel the Booking, or treat the Booking as withdrawn, because the Publication will be sent to print without it.

1.8.3 "As supplied"

You supply Artwork in its final form. We print it substantially as supplied. We are not responsible for:

We will perform our services with reasonable care and skill, including checking that your file is print-ready to the specification above and telling you if it is not. Those checks do not transfer responsibility for the content of your Artwork to us.

1.8.4 Licence to use your Artwork

You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, crop, scale, reposition, colour-convert, flatten and otherwise adapt your Artwork solely as necessary to fit your Card, and to reproduce, print and distribute it as part of the Publication and to retain a copy as required by section 1.8.5.

We will not alter the substance of your Artwork โ€” we will not rewrite your copy, change your prices, remove your contact details or redesign your advert. If your Artwork cannot be made to fit without altering its substance, we will contact you rather than change it.

1.8.5 Retention

We keep your Artwork for 90 days after the Publication Date so that we can deal with printing queries and reprints, and then delete it. We keep invoices and Booking records for longer, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

1.9 Proofs and approval

  1. On request, or where we consider it appropriate, we will send you a proof of your Card in position before the Publication goes to print.
  2. If we send a proof, you must approve it or tell us what is wrong within 2 working days. If you do not respond in that time we may proceed to print on the basis of the proof as sent, and we are not responsible for any error that a timely response would have caught.
  3. If you ask us to proceed without a proof, you accept that we are printing the Artwork as supplied and that section 1.8.3 applies in full.

1.10 Our right to refuse, withdraw or change a Booking

We may refuse, withdraw or require changes to any Artwork or Booking at any time โ€” before or after acceptance, and before or after payment โ€” if in our reasonable opinion:

  1. it does not comply with section 1.11 (prohibited and restricted content);
  2. it does not meet the Artwork specification;
  3. it is or may be unlawful, misleading, defamatory, in breach of confidence, or infringing of anyone's rights;
  4. it makes a claim that you cannot substantiate on request;
  5. it breaches the content requirements of our printer or delivery partner;
  6. it is inconsistent with the standards we apply to the Publication as a whole; or
  7. it would expose us to a regulatory, legal or reputational risk we are not willing to accept.

If we refuse your Artwork and you do not wish to resubmit, you receive a full refund of that Booking. If we refuse after the Publication has been sent to print, our liability is limited as set out in section 1.16.

We may also change the layout, page order or position of your Card where this is reasonably necessary โ€” for example to accommodate late changes, to keep the Publication to its intended format, or to correct a technical printing issue. We will try to preserve the position you booked, but position is not guaranteed unless you have bought a guaranteed-position Card, and any change of position is not a breach of these Terms.

1.11 Prohibited and restricted content

You must not submit Artwork that:

  1. is unlawful, or promotes unlawful activity;
  2. is defamatory, maliciously false, or publishes private information about any person;
  3. infringes copyright, trade marks, design rights, database rights, performer's rights or any other intellectual property right;
  4. uses the name, image, likeness, voice or personal data of any person without that person's valid consent, including without a signed model or talent release where one is required;
  5. is misleading, or makes a claim you cannot substantiate with evidence on request;
  6. is obscene, sexually explicit, or likely to cause serious offence;
  7. promotes or facilitates violence, hatred, discrimination or harassment;
  8. is directed at children in a way that exploits their inexperience;
  9. promotes tobacco, cigarette-smoking or unlicensed vaping products;
  10. promotes gambling unless you hold the relevant Gambling Commission licence and the Artwork complies with the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising (CAP Code) and the Gambling Commission's advertising rules;
  11. promotes alcohol in breach of the CAP Code;
  12. promotes medicines or medical devices in breach of MHRA requirements;
  13. is a financial promotion within the meaning of section 21 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, unless you, or the person who has approved the content, is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority as required. Communicating an unauthorised financial promotion in the course of business is a criminal offence, and we will refuse any Artwork we believe falls within this restriction;
  14. promotes cryptoassets or related services except in compliance with the FCA's financial promotion regime;
  15. relates to consumer credit, claims management, charitable fundraising, estate agency or lettings in breach of the rules applying to those sectors (including redress scheme membership requirements);
  16. breaches the CAP Code or any other code of practice that applies to it; or
  17. breaches the content restrictions of our printer or delivery partner.

You must tell us before booking if your Artwork falls into any restricted category in this section. We may impose additional conditions or refuse the Booking.

1.12 Your warranties

By making a Booking you warrant and represent that:

  1. you own the Artwork, or you have all licences, permissions, consents and releases needed for us to reproduce, print and distribute it as described in these Terms;
  2. you hold valid written releases from every identifiable person appearing in or referred to in the Artwork, permitting its reproduction, printing and distribution to households in the delivery area;
  3. the Artwork is accurate, is not misleading, and every factual and comparative claim in it is substantiated by evidence you hold and can produce within 5 working days of our request;
  4. the Artwork complies with section 1.11, the CAP Code and all law applicable to it and to your business;
  5. the Artwork does not infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality or other rights, and is not defamatory;
  6. where the Artwork contains personal data, you have a lawful basis for the processing involved (and, where special category data is involved, a condition under Article 9 UK GDPR);
  7. you are authorised to enter into these Terms and to give these warranties; and
  8. all information in your account and Booking is accurate and up to date.

These warranties are fundamental to the contract. If you breach them, we may cancel the Booking, refuse to publish, and recover our losses from you under section 1.13.

1.13 Your indemnity

You indemnify and keep indemnified Ads2Door and its officers, employees and sub-contractors against all claims, actions, proceedings, damages, awards, settlements, fines, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising out of or in connection with:

  1. any allegation that your Artwork infringes a third party's intellectual property rights;
  2. any allegation that your Artwork is defamatory, maliciously false, or breaches a duty of confidence or a person's privacy or data protection rights;
  3. any claim by a person appearing in your Artwork, including in relation to consent, release, performer's rights or remuneration;
  4. any regulatory investigation, enforcement action or complaint arising from your Artwork or your business;
  5. any claim arising from your products or services, including claims about their quality, safety, price or availability; and
  6. any breach of the warranties in section 1.12.

This indemnity does not cover losses caused by our own negligence, our own breach of these Terms, or our own unlawful act.

1.14 Cancellation and refunds

1.14.1 All Advertisers

The Refund Policy in section 4 forms part of these Terms. In summary:

1.14.2 If you are a consumer

If you are a consumer (an individual acting wholly outside your trade or profession), you have additional statutory rights:

  1. 14-day cancellation right. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you may cancel your Booking within 14 days of the day it is made, without giving a reason, and receive a full refund.
  2. Where that right ends. If you ask us to begin work immediately โ€” which you do by uploading Artwork and asking us to lay it out, approve it or send it to print โ€” you acknowledge that the cancellation right is lost once the service has been fully performed. Because the service is only fully performed when the Publication is printed and distributed, you may cancel at any time before then within the 14-day period and receive a full refund.
  3. How to cancel. Email support@ads2door.com, or use the model cancellation form โ€” a copy is sent with your Booking confirmation and you can print or copy it at any time. You do not have to use the form: any clear statement cancelling the Booking is enough.
  4. Refund timing. We will refund within 14 days of your cancellation, using the same payment method you used, and we will not charge you a fee for cancelling.
  5. Your other rights. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to services performed with reasonable care and skill and the right to a remedy if they are not.

1.14.3 If you are a business

If you are a business, you confirm that you are not a consumer, that you are acting in the course of business, and that the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 do not apply. The cancellation rights in section 1.14.1 are the whole of your cancellation rights, subject to any right you have under section 1.16.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

1.15 Publication, printing and distribution

  1. We will use reasonable care and skill in arranging printing and distribution.
  2. We do not guarantee delivery to every address in the delivery area. Door drop distribution is carried out by our delivery partner, and the number of households reached is an estimate based on their published distribution figures. We do not warrant that any specific address, street or household will receive a copy.
  3. We do not guarantee any level of response, enquiry, sale, footfall, return on spend or commercial outcome from your Booking. Advertising results depend on factors outside our control, and no result is promised.
  4. We do not guarantee that your Card will or will not appear alongside any particular advertiser, unless you have bought a category exclusivity or guaranteed-position Card.
  5. If a Publication is delayed, we will tell you and give you a revised Publication Date. A reasonable delay is not a breach of these Terms.

1.16 Our liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  1. death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  2. fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  3. any breach of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 where you are a consumer, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  1. we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence โ€” and in Scotland, delict), breach of statutory duty or otherwise;
  2. we are not liable for the commercial performance of your Artwork, including response rates, enquiries, sales or return on spend;
  3. we are not liable for any error, omission, inaccuracy, defamatory statement, misleading claim or infringement of third-party rights contained in Artwork you supplied;
  4. we are not liable for any failure or delay caused by something outside our reasonable control, as set out in section 1.17;
  5. our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with a Booking is limited to the total amount you paid us for that Booking; and
  6. our total aggregate liability for all Bookings in any rolling 12-month period is limited to the total amount you paid us in that period.

Where you are a business, we rely on the reasonableness requirement in sections 3, 6, 7 and 11 of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 in respect of this section, and we consider the limits above to be reasonable because: the price of a Booking reflects the limited value of the service; we maintain insurance cover at a level appropriate to the service; and you are able to obtain your own insurance for any loss you consider material.

1.17 Events outside our control

We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by something outside our reasonable control, including: printer failure or industrial action; paper or ink shortage; failure or delay by our delivery partner, including postal strikes or Royal Mail service disruption; severe weather; fire, flood or other disaster; epidemic or pandemic; failure of utilities or telecommunications; cyber-attack; or a change in law.

If such an event prevents a Publication from being printed or distributed, we will tell you promptly and you may choose either a full refund or a rollover to the next available Publication, on the same basis as section 1.6. That is the limit of our liability in those circumstances.

1.18 Intellectual property in the Publication

The Publication as a whole โ€” its layout, design, arrangement and any content we create โ€” belongs to us. You get no rights in it beyond the right to receive the distribution you have paid for.

You may not reproduce, resell or redistribute the Publication, or any part of it, without our written permission.

1.19 Confidentiality of other advertisers' material

We keep every Advertiser's Artwork and Booking confidential before publication.

You have no right to see, and must not ask us to show you, any other Advertiser's Artwork or Booking details before the Publication Date. If you ask, we will refuse. What we can offer instead:

  1. a proof of your own Card in position, with neighbouring Cards obscured or replaced with placeholders;
  2. a page plan showing the Publication's structure, Card sizes and availability, without other Advertisers' content;
  3. a copy of a previous, already-published edition of the Publication, which is public;
  4. if you need certainty that a competitor is not in the same Publication, a category exclusivity Card, which you can buy at the price shown on the Publication page.

You must keep confidential any pre-publication proof, page plan or other material we share with you, and must not disclose it to any third party.

1.20 Your account

  1. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity on your account.
  2. You must tell us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
  3. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently, or where we are required to by law. If we close your account, Bookings already paid for are dealt with under sections 1.6, 1.10 and 1.14.

1.21 Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms from time to time. The version in force when you make a Booking is the version that applies to that Booking, and we will not change it retrospectively to your disadvantage. We will post the current version on this page with a new "last updated" date.

1.22 Complaints and disputes

  1. If you have a complaint, email support@ads2door.com with your Booking reference. We will acknowledge within 5 working days and aim to resolve within 28 days.
  2. If we cannot resolve it, and you are a business, the dispute will be dealt with under section 1.23.
  3. If you are a consumer, we will tell you about any relevant alternative dispute resolution provider. We are not obliged to use one, but we will consider it in good faith.

1.23 Governing law and jurisdiction

  1. These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the law of Northern Ireland.
  2. If you are a business, you and we both irrevocably agree that the courts of Northern Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction.
  3. If you are a consumer resident in Northern Ireland, you benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of Northern Ireland and you may bring proceedings in the courts of Northern Ireland.
  4. If you are a consumer resident in England or Wales, you benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of England and Wales and you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms affects your right to rely on mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
  5. If you are a consumer resident in Scotland, you benefit from any mandatory provisions of Scots law and you may bring proceedings in the Scottish courts. Nothing in these Terms affects your right to rely on mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
  6. In these Terms, references to "tort" include "delict" in Scotland, and references to an "injunction" include an "interdict".

1.24 General

  1. Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Refund Policy, and the details of your Booking, are the whole agreement between us.
  2. Severability. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest remains in force. This is particularly important for sections 1.16 and 1.17 โ€” if part of a limit is unenforceable, the remaining limits continue to apply.
  3. No waiver. If we do not enforce a right, that is not a waiver of it.
  4. Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer our rights to another business, and will tell you if we do.
  5. Third-party rights. Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
  6. Notices. Notices to you go to the email address on your account. Notices to us go to support@ads2door.com.

Personal data inside your Artwork. If your Artwork contains personal data about other people โ€” for example a photograph of a member of staff, a customer testimonial with a name and image, or a model โ€” you are responsible for having a lawful basis for that processing, including any Article 9 condition for special category data (such as health, ethnicity or religious belief). We process that data as publisher of the Publication, relying on your warranties in section 1.12. We do not use the personal data in your Artwork for any other purpose.

2.4 Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

We share it with:

  1. Stripe โ€” payment processing.
  2. Our hosting and infrastructure providers โ€” to run the website and store your Artwork.
  3. Our printers โ€” who receive the Publication files, including your Artwork, in order to print.
  4. Our delivery partner (Royal Mail or an appointed door drop distributor) โ€” who receive the printed Publications for distribution. They do not receive your account data.
  5. Our accountants and professional advisers โ€” where necessary.
  6. Our insurers and legal advisers โ€” in connection with a claim or potential claim.
  7. Law enforcement, regulators or courts โ€” where we are required by law, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Each processor is bound by a written contract under Article 28 UK GDPR requiring them to act only on our instructions and to keep your data secure.

2.5 International transfers

Our main providers are located in the UK. Where a provider transfers personal data outside the UK, we rely on an adequacy regulation, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with any additional safeguards required. You can ask us for details.

2.6 How long we keep it

Support correspondence2 years after the matter is closed
Marketing preferencesUntil you unsubscribe, then retained on a suppression list for 2 years
Technical and security logs12 months
Card detailsNever stored by us

We may keep data longer where we need it for a legal claim, a regulatory requirement, or an ongoing complaint, and only for as long as that need continues.

2.7 Your rights

You have the right to:

  1. access a copy of your personal data;
  2. have inaccurate data rectified;
  3. have your data erased where we no longer need it and there is no lawful reason to keep it;
  4. restrict our processing in certain circumstances;
  5. object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time;
  6. data portability โ€” receive certain data in a machine-readable format;
  7. withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent, without affecting processing already carried out;
  8. not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you. We do not carry out such processing.

To exercise any of these, email support@ads2door.com. We will respond within one month, and will extend by up to two further months if the request is complex โ€” we will tell you if so. We may need to verify your identity. Exercising your rights is free.

2.8 Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls limiting who can see uploaded Artwork, and card processing handled entirely by Stripe. No system is completely secure, but we take these obligations seriously.

If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours where required, and tell you without undue delay where the risk is high.

2.9 Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first at support@ads2door.com โ€” we would like the chance to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

2.10 Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.

3. Cookie Policy

3.1 What cookies we use

We use only essential cookies โ€” cookies that are necessary for the website to work. These do not require your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, because the service cannot be provided without them.

If we introduce analytics cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before setting them.

3.3 Managing cookies

Your Artwork printed with an error that was in the file you suppliedNo refund (section 1.8.3)

4.2 How to request a refund

Email support@ads2door.com with your Booking reference, or use the model cancellation form sent with your Booking confirmation. We will confirm within 5 working days and pay refunds within 14 days of agreeing them, to the original payment method.

4.3 What is never refundable

Once a Publication has been sent to print, the printing cost is committed and the Booking cannot be undone. This is why the Closing Date and the cancellation windows exist, and why we confirm both at checkout.

This does not affect your statutory rights, and does not apply where the Minimum Edition was not reached or where we cancelled the Publication โ€” in those cases you are always refunded in full.

4.4 Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank. We will always try to resolve it directly, and a chargeback raised without contacting us first may delay the outcome for both of us.
